    The centrifugal refrigeration machine is a large-scale refrigeration equipment centered on a centrifugal compressor. It is mainly used in central air conditioning systems and industrial refrigeration, featuring large cooling capacity and high efficiency.

Centrifugal Refrigeration Machine Structure and Working Principle.

Core Components Include:

‌1.Centrifugal Compressor: Compresses gaseous refrigerant through a high-speed impeller (with rotational speeds ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 r/min), converting kinetic energy into pressure energy.

‌2.Condenser: The high-temperature and high-pressure gas is cooled here into a liquid state. Commonly, it has a tube-shell design, with the temperature difference of the cooling water controlled within 5-8℃.

‌3.Evaporator: The low-pressure liquid refrigerant absorbs the heat from the chilled water to achieve cooling, and the outlet water temperature can reach 7℃.

 

Operating principle:

It follows the reverse Carnot cycle:

1.The compressor compresses the refrigerant gas (increasing the pressure to 1.5-3.5 MPa).

2.The gas in the condenser liquefies and releases heat.

3.The throttling valve reduces the pressure and then enters the evaporator to absorb heat.

4.The cycle repeats to achieve continuous cooling.

1.The COP value can reach above 6.0 (part-load efficiency improvement of 20% is required by the latest IPLV standard).

2.Magnetic levitation technology enables oil-free operation, with noise reduced to 50 decibels.

Unit Classification:

‌1.By sealing type: fully enclosed (≤ 3500kW), semi-enclosed, open type.‌‌

‌2.By application: air conditioning chilled water units (7-12℃ chilled water), industrial low-temperature units (-40℃ and below).

Typical application scenarios:

1.Central air conditioning systems for commercial buildings (with single unit cooling capacity of over 1200 kW).

2.Cooling systems for electronic chip production.

3.Low-temperature control in chemical processes.

1.Frequency conversion drive: Energy consumption is reduced by 30% compared to fixed-frequency units.

2.Intelligent control: IoT integration enables surge warning and energy efficiency optimization.

3.Environmental-friendly refrigerant: Gradually replacing R134a, using low-GWP refrigerants such as R1234ze.

1.For projects above 2000RT, multi-stage centrifugal units should be preferred.

2.The cooling tower capacity needs to be matched (approximately 3-5 m³/h of water per ton of cooling capacity).
